Our tips for reaching Lipari
To reach the Aeolian Islands, you can fly to Catania, Naples, Palermo or Reggio Calabria airports; by sea, you can travel via hydrofoil from the ports of Naples, Messina, Milazzo, Palermo and Reggio Calabria and by ferry from the ports of Naples and Milazzo.
BY PLANE:
- From Reggio Calabria Airport- Aeroporto dello Stretto
- From Catania Airport - Fontanarossa
- From Palermo Airport - Punta Raisi
Shuttle services are available on demand for two people minimum from Catania Fontanarossa airport (1,40h)/ Palermo (3h) to Milazzo port, where you will find several hydrofoils and ferries to Aeolian Islands.

BY CAR:
- From Messina with your car by ferryboat - It is necessary to reach Milazzo port by car via motorway (1h). Once arrived in Milazzo, you can catch the first ferry departing from the port, such as SIREMAR or NGI.

- From Catania with your car by ferryboat - It is necessary to reach Milazzo port by car via motorway (1h). Once arrived in Milazzo, you can catch the first ferry departing from the port, such as SIREMAR or NGI.
- From Palermo with your car by ferryboat - It is necessary to reach Milazzo port by car via motorway (3h/300 km). Once arrived in Milazzo, you can catch the first ferry departing from the port, such as SIREMAR or NGI. o NGI.
BY TRAIN:
Milazzo station is the nearest to Aeolian Islands. In order to reach the port, you can catch the bus or get a taxi (around 4 km).
